Hi! I’m the sole developer and dabbling artist behind the apps in the Interactive Minds series and now Tot Spot.
Interactive Minds
Many years ago now I endeavored to make a series of science apps to condense my love of hands-on-science in an easy to understand format for kids. This resulted in two space apps: Interactive Minds: Solar System and Interactive Minds: Universe
Tot Spot
In late 2019 I became a mom. As my daughter grew into a toddler, she loved looking at recent photos I’d taken on my phone, but had difficulty navigating the built-in iOS Photos app. The multitude of gestures and buttons were confusing, which upset her, and I feared she would accidentally delete things.
When I looked on the app store, I found that most apps for young kids were too loud and flashy for my taste (and for my daughter). She really just wanted to quietly explore things on my phone, like photos and music.
This lead to the creation of Tot Spot. It was in development for many years, since I was a full time mom and didn’t have much spare time. My daughter was the first tester, but later her baby brother was born and eventually he was old enough to use the app as well. We’ve since added another baby boy to the family, but he is still too young to use a phone (he’s really more into chewing on things). Now finally, in early 2025, Tot Spot has been released! If you have kids, I hope they enjoy the app as much as mine have 🙂
If you have any feedback on the app, please contact me! I’d love to hear if there are features you’d like to see or know if there’s a bug (hopefully there aren’t any problems, but they do happen).
